CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN.

A little smile formed on Achilles' lips when he spotted Tony seated by the river banks. That river used to be their favorite place when they were young. He remembered the times they would skip training to go and swim in the river only to go back home and get trashed brutally by their fathers.

Before the massacre, before they took on the responsibility as Alpha and Beta, their lives were much more playful and they spent a lot of time together. Even after they took over, they spent time together, but they mostly discussed pack issues and hardly had any leisure time.

"I can feel your presence Achilles." Tony notified as he turned to look at Achilles who was standing far behind him. Achilles chuckled and shook his head as he made his way towards Tony.

"I knew I'd find you here." He said.

"Is anything the matter?" Toby asked, but Achilles calmly shook his head as he stooped down and began taking off his shoes.

When he was done, he took off the buttons of his shirt and made himself comfortable on the sand, by Tony's side. Tony, who had been watching him, smiled and shook his head.

"What's up?" He asked casually, looking back at the water.

"Well…" Achilles sighed. "Diana and I just had a talk a while ago and I thought it wise to cole and talk with you too. After all, it's been five years since we last sat like this together."

  "That's true."

  "Yeah."

There is a brief moment of silence.

"Do you ever miss the times when we were still kids, before the massacre. When our fathers were still Alpha and Beta, when all we had to do was go for training and live like royals, when we had the chance to forgo the important things for a swim in this river."

"And gets trashed by either your father or my father and sometimes both, in your father's office." Tony completed and the two men laughed hard as they looked at eachother.

"We've known each other all our lives, Tony and I would be lying if I said I didn't miss you these five years. I missed the times when we'd fight off rogues together, when we'd stay up all night in my office calculating funds and making sure every business in the pack was flourishing. We went through every difficulty together and it hurts me to think that we missed each other's happy moments. Bella having my child was a happy moment for me, but we couldn't enjoy it because of what was going on. Diana having your child was a happy moment, but I wasn't there to share it with you because I was away. I hate the fact that things got to this level." He explained sadly and Tony averted his gaze from the running water to him.

"I know, right?" He confirmed. "We both went through a lot together, but missed the moments that meant a lot to both of us. That's something we can never change no matter how much we cry or regret. It's the past and there's nothing we can do about it, but there is something we can do about the future. We can change the future by making sure we stick together, win this war so we can always be there to share each other's happy moments, because I strongly believe that there are more happy moments to come."

"Of course there are. There are definitely happier moments to come." He said smiling and Tony nodded his head.

"Diana, however, told me something that took me completely off guard. Something I don't know if I should congratulate or scold you for." Achilles said within chuckles and Tony instantly turned to face him with a horrified look on his face.

"What was that?" He asked in panic.

"I think you know." Achilles told him and he smiled as his head dropped. He knew exactly what Achilles was talking about.

"Is it about us having feelings for eachother a long time ago?" He asked, smiling.

"Yes! That! She told me today and I was mortified. How the hell did you guys hide something like that from me so well? I swear I never ever suspected a thing!"

"Well…" Tony couldn't help but laugh. He had known the day was going to come when he'd have to explain to Achilles what had been going on behind his back for the past years. "I don't know how either, but we just made sure you never saw us together at any time or talked about each other to you. The redemption got all your attention too and you could hardly even notice anything else, so yeah, that's how we were able to hide it from you."

"But why? Why did you guys have to hide it from me?" Achilles asked worriedly.

"Why?" Tony asked and chuckled. "Did I just hear you ask the question, why?"

  "Yeah, why?"

"Achilles do you have any idea how protective you are of the women in your life? Both Bella and Diana, those are people you do not joke with. I was scared of what you would do to me if you found out that I had feelings for your sister. You would have definitely ripped me apart." Tony explained furiously and Achilles looked at him long and hard before bursting into laughter. "It's not funny Ace, so stop laughing."

"Excuse me? You say this isn't funny? Of course it is! Why would you even think that I would do something to harm you because you have feelings for my sister? On the contrary Tony, I so badly wanted you two to be together. Before the issue of the redemption came up, I was planning to set you up together, but when I found out we were going to gain back our abilities to detect our mates, I let it go because I didn't want either of you to get hurt. I swear I would have been over the moon if I knew."

"Sure?" Tony asked unsure and Achilles nodded his head.

"I swear! You are the only man I see fit to be with my sister and I'm happy the moon goddess sees that too. That night when Diana went to see Bella and I off to the human world, she told me you guys were mates and that what even made me leave confidently because I knew she was in good hands. I knew you'd take good care of her."

"Do you think I did?" Tony asked unsure a d Achilles gaze on him intensified.

  "What do you mean?"

"When you left, there was so much to do in the pack and we had issues because I didn't spend much time with her. I eventually worked on that and we stopped fighting, but overall, I still doubt myself as a husband and father to both her and Bella."

"Tony, there's no reason for you to doubt yourself. I've seen that you treat them well. You are a good father and husband, a good Beta too, so do not ever doubt yourself. Please."

"I missed you Achilles. I miss ruling as your Beta, I miss having moments like this with you. I'm truly happy to have you back here and I hope you are here to stay."

"I'm here to stay. After all this is over, we'll stay here together, we will rule and raise our children together, just like our fathers have wanted."

"I would very much love that."
