Diana wanted to tell the others what grandma told her during dinner, but because Achilles and Bella did not join them for breakfast the previous night, she had to wait till the next day. It was nine am in the morning and she had summoned everyone in Achilles' office so she could tell them about the latest developments.
She was still a bit shaken by the reality that Bella was the one to kill Alpha D'argan because she was his daughter. She had no idea how Bella was going to take the news. Bella had never killed anyone before, so she had no idea if she would have the courage to kill Alpha D'argan, especially as he was her father.
"Diana, we've been sitting in complete silence for over twenty minutes now, could you please tell us why you summoned us?" Achilles asked impatiently. Diana sighed heavily as she rose from her seat and stood at the center of the office, facing all of them.
"Good morning once more." She greeted with no joy and the others mumbled their responses. "Yesterday, we found out that Alpha Curtis together with six other Alphas will be taking our side in this war and we also thought of what exactly it was that we had to do to kill alpha D'argan and we came to the conclusion that I would consult Grandma and find out from her. Well, I did consult Grandma, I did find out, but I don't think we are ready for what has to be done."
"What do you mean?" Tony asked.
"What did grandma say?" Achilles asked worriedly.
"Well…" She said and exhaled heavily. "I asked her what had to do to kill Alpha Dargan and she spoke about a dagger."
"Dagger?" Achilles asked and she nodded her head.
"Yeah a dagger. It's called The Dagger of Purity. It is that belongs to this royal household and has been passed down to Alphas from generation to generation."
"What does the dagger do?"
"The dagger of purity is supposed to be what's used to kill any other Alpha that threatens the Paramount throne. That paramount throne was assigned to our pack and so only an Alpha of our pack can mount the throne and rule over the other Alphas. Any other Alpha from another pack who tries to fight for or steal that throne has to be stabbed and killed by that dagger."
"So, where is that dagger and… and how come we've known nothing about the dagger all this while.
"Grandma said only the Alpha, Beta, Luna and Witch of the pack have to know about the dagger, that's why not even a rumour has been spread. Father had to tell you about it when you turned sixteen, but he didn't get the chance to do so because he was killed."
"So… where's the dagger."
"Alpha D'argan stole it on the night of the massacre."
"That sick bastard! I swear I'm going to kill him!" Achilles cursed furiously.
"We have to find a way to steal it and that cannot be done using magic. It's The Dagger of Purity, nothing supernatural acts on it. Someone had to go there in person and get it." She explained and everyone in the office exchanged confused glances.
"How on earth are we going to do that?" Tony asked worriedly. "Neither of us can get into that pack, they know us and only the moon goddess knows what will happen to that person if he or she is caught."
"No…the moment anyone from the Wall Street Pack gets into that castle, he or she will be smelled out. It's too risky." Achilles added.
"Well, it's a good thing we have allies." Bella's chipped and everyone turned to look at her. "Well, Alpha Curtis was here yesterday to make us understand that he and six other Alphas are on our side in this war. If we can't get into the Crescent Moon Pack to get the Dagger of Purity, then the only way out is to plead with him to send someone from his pack."
"That person will still be smelled."
"The Crescent Moon Pack and Black Wood Pack are not enemy packs. It won't raise any alarm. I think we should summon Alpha Curtis and share this with him. He's the closest person to Alpha Dargan, he will definitely know how to go about this." Bella further expatiated and the entire office went dead silent.
"Question is, can we trust Alpha Curtis with this kind of information?" Tony asked unsure.
"We didn't go to look for Alpha Curtis to propose an alliance with his pack. The Moon goddess brought him to us, so yes, we can trust him." Bella stood her ground and everyone was amazed.
"Well… it seems getting the dagger won't be too much of a hassle."
"It won't. Is this what you thought we are not ready for?" Achilles asked, referring to the statement she made earlier.
"I wish it was."
"You mean to tell me there's more?" Achilles asked with a raised brow.
"As a matter of fact, there is. Grandma also made me understand that there are only two people in this world who have the ability to kill Alpha D'argan with that dagger."
"And who are they?" Achilles asked eagerly. He hoped he was among the two people.
"I hoped so too, but my bubble was burst just as yours is about to get burst." Diana responded to his thoughts aloud and Achilles sighed in exasperation.
"Then who could they be if you and I are not included?" He asked, irritated.
"Bella and Baby Alex" Diana announced and everyone in the room looked at her in terror.
"What?" Achilles asked aghast. "Baby Alex as in my son?" He asked just to be sure.
"Yes, your son."
"But he's just five years old. He's a baby! He can't kill!"
"No one said he was the one to kill, there's Bella."
"Oh my God, no! I can't kill." Bella flatly denied it. "I don't think I will be able to do it." She argued and Diana just looked at her and shook her head.
"Grandma said only you or baby Alex can do it because you two are the ones related to him by blood. He failed you, so you have to end him." Diana further explained and Bella was even more terrified.
She looked at Achilles, shaking her head, but she could see in his eyes that there was nothing he could do for her at that moment.
"Isn't there any other way out?" Bella asked, scared.
"I wish there was, but there isn't."
"Oh my God!" She cried as she ruffled her hair and breathed hard. " This is too much to take." She said as she rose on her feet and exited the office.
"She'll come around." Achilles assured the rest.
"Are you sure about that?" Diana asked. "No matter what, the man is still her father. Do you think she'll have the courage to kill her father?"
"Bella loathes Alpha D'argan and she wants him dead just as much as everyone of us in here. She's just terrified of the idea that she has to kill someone. All she needs is a little motivation and I'm going to do that. She's going to come around, trust me on this. Besides, it's not like there's another way out, we have to convince her to do this one way or the other."
"Yeah, you are right."
"Tony, send word to the Black Wood Pack. Tell Alpha Curtis to report here as soon as he can. Tell him we have to discuss something of great importance. Something that has got to do with the battle."
"I'm on it." Tony said as she rose to his feet. "Dang! I miss this." He mumbled to himself as he headed out of the office leaving Carter, Diana and Achilles behind.
"I'm going after Bella, I need to talk to her before she loses her mind." He said and exited the office.
