Bella didn't go to her bedroom when she left the office. Instead, she went over to Alex's chambers. She wanted to go and see his preserved body and talk to him. There were a few things he wanted to say to him.
What she just heard Diana say about her killing Alpha D'argan shook her to the core. She was completely terrified of the news. She had never killed anyone before and the thought of killing Alpha D'argan scared her even more.
He was a tyrant and she hated him with all her heart, but she didn't think she had the courage to do so. She did not have the courage to hold a dagger against Alpha D'argan and actually stab him to death. He was definitely going to have her killed before she made her first move.
When she got to the door of Alex's bedroom, she could feel the atmosphere change immediately and she understood it was because of the powerful spells Diana casted on his body everyday to prevent it from decaying. She heaved out a deep breath and stretched her hand forward to open the door and once she did, she stepped in and shut the door behind her. Her heart began beating in an increasingly rapid pace when her eyes fell on Alex's well dressed body lying on the bed. He was still all dressed up in the navy blue tuxedo and looked like a man who was just taking a nap.
As she walked closer to the bed, she could not help but think of all the good times she had spent with Alex when he was still alive. She also remembered how he saved her from being killed by rogues in the woods. The times he took her out for a walk in the garden. Alex was a good man and he died protecting her. She hoped Diana would be able to bring him back to life after the war was over.
"Alex." She whispered as she sat on the stool by the bedside and calmly placed her hand on his.
Since she was a child, she has always had a phobia for dead bodies, but at that moment, she wasn't scared of sitting close to and even touching Alex's dead body.
"Alex." She called again looking at his face. "We now know what has to be done to get over this war, but I'm scared. I have to kill Alpha D'argan and I don't think I can go about it. I have never killed anyone before, how am I supposed to hold a dagger against such a powerful man and succeed in killing him? I feel like I'm going to fail." She cried.
The tears in her eyes broke free and spilled down her cheeks. She had no idea how to go about the situation.
"Diana said just two people have the ability to have him killed. That's Little Alex and I. Alex is just five years old and even if he was an adult, I wouldn't let my son stain his hands with the blood of a tyrant. I have to do it myself and I'm scared. What do I do, Alex?" She asked in tears still holding Alex's hand and looking at his face, but Alex did bulge.
"I have to end this war so that we can get a chance of great magic to bring you back to life, but I'm scared. I'm scared Alex."
"Bella." She heard a familiar voice call after a knock on the door. She immediately recognized the voice to be Achilles'.
"Come in." She answered and struggled to clean her tears away. The door immediately opened up and Achilles walked into the room.
"Are you alright?" He asked concerned as he made his way towards her. Bella calmly shook her head and gave up on wiping her tears. More spilled down as a violent sob escaped her lips.
Without uttering a word, Achilles took the seat next to her and drew her into his big arms, engulfing her in a warm hug. Bella couldn't help but cry harder.
"Tell me what the problem is." Achilles urged and Bella tried to suppress her sobs and talk.
"I don't want to be the one to kill that tyrant. I don't have the courage to do so."
"My love, to be honest, I don't want you to be the one to kill him. I want to rip that man's heart out myself, but as we all know, the moon goddess knows better and she has a reason for choosing you to do so."
"But… he's an Alpha and he's incredibly strong. There's no way I will be able to handle a duel with him, he's going to have me killed before I can throw a single punch!" She lamented and Achilles fought his urge to laugh. She looked so serious and scared and he knew he was going to get into big trouble with her if he dared to laugh at that moment.
"Well…" He said and pursed his lips together to hide his smile. "No one talked about you having a duel with him."
"How then am I going to get the chance to kill him if I don't have a one on one fight with him?"
"Baby, there are many ways. I could knock him out, I could beat him to pulp before you are brought to finish him off. All you have to do is drive the dagger into his heart, he could he be in any state when that happens, it does necessarily have to be in a duel between the two of you?" Achilles explained and Bella's face lit up immediately.
"Oh my Goodness, that's true. I thought I had to get my chance only in a duel with him."
"No love, that's not the only way. What we are gonna do is that, I'm going to have him beaten up and once he's weak, you'll then come in with the dagger. It is that simple." He assured Bella who couldn't help but smile.
That was the explanation she needed to lighten her mood.
"So, stop crying and feeling scared. Everything is going to work out as it should and in the end, Alex will be resurrected and we all will live as one big happy family."
"I can't wait for that time to come."
"Me too love, me too." He said as he calmly stroked her hair.
The talk went easier than he had expected.
