The Pack had been unnaturally chill these past few weeks, like the breeze before a storm. Since the marriage ceremony… and my father’s death… everything had become different, especially for me. A pack without an Alpha is vulnerable and exposed. It leaves room for power struggles, for old enemies to fester and push threats.
