“Aurora! How do you feel?”

That was the hundredth time Kasper had asked this same question. His voice was careful, filled with fear. But I couldn’t bring myself to say anything. I wanted to talk to him, to ease his worry, but the pain held my voice in. Each contraction came like a rushed wave, snapping each ounce of strength in me.
