My gaze stayed fixed on Kasper. He hadn’t spoken in almost an hour, perhaps more.

Even when I tried to engage him, soft words, casual questions, he would only sigh and look away, as if my voice was little more than background noise.

This wasn't Kapser, he hasn't been so troubled and did not want to share with me.
