Chapter 3

"Are we there yet?" he asked.

I glanced around. All I can see are tall trees. We're not there yet. I left a sign when I left that place. I'm just not sure if we are near there or not. I shake my head at him. He continues walking. My flashlight suddenly went off.

Fucky!

The two of us met eye to eye. Even his flashlight suddenly lost its light.

"The battery is low," I said. As before, he still did not speak.

We only use the light of the moon. We continued walking. I'm unsure what time it is because my cellphone is already low. My wristwatch fell when Vlad pulled my wrist.

I hope Mom doesn't feel bad at home without me because I couldn't say goodbye to her.

Hopefully, we can get back soon, and hopefully, I can prove that what I saw is true. Because he is taller than me, he walks ahead of me even though I know the way.

I don't know how he found his way here; he was just in Colmillos. The whole forest is vast because the end of this town is a vast forest. It may catch up with us in the morning before we leave here.

Now I keep wondering how I got to the middle of the forest and if it was so expanded.

I was stopped by a glimpse out of the corner of my eye. My forehead furrowed there. I'm sure that's not a fantasy. My eyes are not blurred, even with contact lenses.

My eyes narrowed as I looked around. I saw that I had stopped walking as well. He also looked around.

I sighed as I felt the fast wind blowing on my left side, causing my hair to go in the direction of that wind. My chest tightened for no apparent reason, and I felt the hardness and coldness of my body because of that.

I glance sideways. There's nothing in here, but I can feel something. I glance at him, who is attentively looking at our surroundings. His stance is different. It seems like he's going to fight someone or something. I feel so uneasy right now. As we walked in the woods, I couldn't help but gaze at every second.

After a few minutes, what was heavy on my chest was gone, and my body wasn't cold either.

"Aw!"

I stumbled upon a complicated thing. I grab my right foot and look at it. There isn't even a scratch. Near my ankle is a small bump; it's reddish too.

My eyes drifted to the ground. My fucky laptop was the thing I stumbled upon!

This is the thing that I left!

Here is my research! So that’s not complete because I left the laptop here! When I woke up on the road, my belongings were gone. Fortunately, it's still here!

I sat down to see that. I looked to the side and saw my bag not far from where I was.

"We're close!" I said that without looking at Asmodeus.

I didn't receive any response from him, so I raised my head; his eyes were staring somewhere.

Fucky!

We’re not just around there because we’re already right here!

There is a wide circle in the middle. The ground we are standing on is high, so we can see from here above what is happening down there. We're not that high, but it's just me. What's there is like lightning.

Fucky! That's them! They are the ones I saw in the past!

Vampires!

I can't see their faces because of the hoods they're wearing with a cloak. In a circle, it looks like they will have another ritual.

"See? Vampires! They're vampires! I'm not lying! My gut is right! They're real!"

I said in hushed tones, even though I was desperate for him to hear me and prove I was correct. But he didn't say anything, as if he couldn't listen to me because his eyes were staring at it.

I can’t believe they’re real!

I'm right!

Adrasteia, son of a b*tch!

You are not crazy because they are real! What are you doing now, Vlad? Bernadette?

What are you doing now?!

I'm right!

If my cellphone isn't low-bat, I'll vlog it, if possible!

My eyes shifted to the girl they put down, tied up in the middle of them. They're not doing anything to her.

They're just standing there watching her as she tries to untie the rope around her wrist. Her feet are tied too. That's why she can't even stand up or sit; she lays there helplessly.

Who is that woman?

She was wearing a broken red dress. She was barefoot, and I could see the black dirt on her white feet. Her long hair is messy, and her face is dirty, but she can't hide her beautiful face.

Is she a human? I looked at her face; she screamed at them, but no sound came out of her mouth.

My eyes widened when I saw her fangs.

Fucky!

So she's not human; she's one of them! But why is she not pale? Why are her eyes not red? According to the books, they should be.

If she is one of these, why is this woman tied up? Shouldn't people like me and not their kind be bound?

In just a blink of an eye, someone is kneeling beside her.

I think that's male based on his posture. Its body is large, and it also looks tall, even on its knees. I couldn’t see his face because he turned his back on our position, which removed the hood on his head.

When the woman saw the man's face, she struggled, again and again, to get out of bondage. He shouted again, but still, no voice came out of his mouth. The man caressed her cheek and kissed her tenderly.

I can't understand why he can't break the bond with him if he's a vampire; the vampire is strong so that he can get out of bondage.

She tilted her head to avoid the kiss, but the guy caught it and cupped her face with one hand. My eyebrows furrowed when I saw something falling from her mouth. It landed on the ground. Even though I'm not near them, I can hear the girl's heart pounding inside her chest.

I turned off the white piece; was it a denture?

Fucky, no!

It's a fake fang! If so, the woman is not a vampire! She is a human like me!

My eyes widened as the man violently tore her clothes, revealing her chest. The woman tried to cover it with her hand, but the man stopped her. The vampires around them were watching.

Fucky! Is this even a ritual?

What will he do with that woman? For some incomprehensible reason, the vampires around them suddenly disappeared.

Fucky! Where did they go? I looked around; there was nothing to worry about, so I looked back there again.

Nothing covers the delicate parts of a woman's body today. I took a deep breath. If I were right, the vampire would claim that woman.

"Where are you going?"

I would have walked there if he had grabbed my wrist.

"Didn't you see?" Her fangs are fake; that woman is human. "She's not a vampire like them."

His eyes narrowed.

"I have to save that woman!"

His brow furrowed, a faint grin on his lips. I know that grin; does he think I'm kidding?

Fucky no!

I will save that woman! I know I'm not that kind, but I can consider this a chance to be claimed by a vampire; if I'm not lucky, I'll even get bitten or face it.

But what if that vampire doesn't look like the one in the novel?

Fucky! I don't mind!

I don't have a crush on this vampire anymore; I can turn a blind eye while he's riding me!

The woman is beautiful, so I'm sure that the vampire is handsome. I'm sure this woman won't go with a monster unless she loves vampires like me.

He doesn't want to be possessed or bitten by a vampire, so it's just me.

I sound desperate because I am. It's like I've entered a vampire novel. This is not romantic like what is written in novels, but I'm okay with it.

I can wait because it seems impossible to come true, but it's true! It's all a dream; I hope I don't wake up like this, but if I do, I'll try this dream.

I took a deep breath before shouting. "Take me instead! I'm the only one you can claim as a sacrifice!"

I felt the cold palm cover my mouth. I couldn’t see if that vampire looked at me or even heard me because I was pulled behind the tree.

"What?!" I sighed as he removed his palm from my mouth.

As his dark eyes darted at me, I met them."What the fuck are you doing?"

Oh? Why is this man so serious? He just laughed at me for what he said, huh?

"I'll save that woman!"

"You can't save her; she's already dead." He made a serious promise.

I was shocked by what he said. Is the woman dead? How could she be dead if she move before? Fucky ?! Has the vampire ever bitten her? Is it too late?!

"Let's go." He walked and passed me.

"No, I'm going to stay here!" His eyes narrowed at what I said.

"If you want to leave, leave. I've proven that what I'm saying is true; others need to know that, so leave and tell them."

"What?"

"I'm going to stay here. I'm not leaving. If you want to leave, leave. I'll block them so you can escape."

"Are you out of your mind?! If they find you, you'll die."

"Then I'll die happy and satisfied."

"What?"

He didn't seem to think I had an answer to what he said. What did he think? Am I scared of that? I am not afraid to die like everyone else.

"I don't care if they kill me. "It would be my pleasure to be killed by a vampire! I wanted to see a real vampire for a long time, so I would take this chance to be bitten!"

"Are you crazy?"

"Yes, if they ever kill me, people will know that the vampire killed me and that they are real!"

"My corpse is the evidence!"

He couldn't reply to what I said, so I looked back at that place. My forehead furrowed when I saw that the vampire was no longer there; the unconscious woman's body was the only thing left.

He was right; the woman was dead.

The wind made me close my eyes quickly, and when I woke up, I was exposed to a vampire. I can't see his face because he's wearing a hood. Is he the vampire who killed the woman or not?

I swallowed hard.

He just stood there. I was about to walk towards him when I felt a strong, cold arm wrap around my waist and drag me.

When I opened my eyes, we were no longer there. I don’t know where we are now.

I'm breathing heavily; my chest won't stop going up and down, and my eyes constantly blink, staring at the giant trees.

His cold and hard body parted from me, but his hand remained on my waist.

What the hell happened?!

How did we get out of there so quickly?

The two of us met eye to eye. He gave me a cold stare.

The vampire reached us. Forming a circle around us. I can't ask what happened or how it happened because we are in big trouble!

Now they are no longer wearing hoods; they are only wearing pants, and they are also barefoot.

Their pale skin glows as the moonlight hits it. Their eyes are darker than the night.

Why is it not red?

Fucky! I even got to question the color of their eyes even though they were blocking us.

Fucky! They are not the same as in the novel. They are thin; some are tall, and some are not.

In this situation, I have compared the differences between the real vampire and the one in the novel.

I rolled my eyes. There are at least fifteen or more. I was already feeling nervous. I could still claim the vampire, but only one!

Fucky! I can't be a woman at fifteen! Fucky! How much longer will I hide that face? I'm going to die by accident!

I step back but decide not to continue when I realize we are standing on a cliff!

I'll drop into the sea when I fall, but I still can't swim!

Fucky!

I clung to his arm. He's turned his back on the vampires blocking us; does he see this?

My eyes widened when I saw someone who was about to run towards us. The vampire is going to push me to the cliff but Asmo is beside me, so I did my best to push him to the side so he won't fall with me.

As I fell into the raging sea, I bit into the cold in my bones. I let the sea swallow me while closing my eyes. I can't move; my whole body seems to be weakening.

I let my helpless body drown in the deep sea; after all, I can now die because I saw real vampires.

Fucky no!

I can't die yet!

I'm still a virgin!

I took a deep breath as someone lifted my head into the sea. There is a hand that supports the back of the head, as well as the back.

His arms are colder than the sea. My breathing is still shaky because of the freezing water, and my body is stiff like a block of ice. I looked around to see who had saved me from drowning, but all I could see was his dark face.

I closed my eyes tightly before opening them; perhaps it was just my contacts that caused me to see nothing but darkness.

When my eyes open, the first thing that catches my attention is the moon. I'm facing him from behind, and the moonlight shines in my eyes. I turned my gaze to him. Our eyes met. His eyes are enchanting.

I lifted my right hand to touch his face, but something hit me, and everything went black. The last thing I saw was his piercing red eyes staring at me.

Stare

"A woman's body was found!"

"What?!" Another body was found,

"Where?"

"It was seen again in the same place where the first corpse was found.

Fucky!

"Is that true?"

"Yes! That's what we're talking about now! Her clothes are also broken."

"What a pity..."

"Who died? What happened?"

"The police did not say, nor could they be identified when they saw it because the body was said to be full of blood, but it looked like it was tied based on the scar on the wrist and then on foot."

Fucky! What happened last night quickly entered my mind. It wasn’t just vampires I saw in the woods last night. There is also a girl! His wrist and foot were tied. Isn't that... Alta talking about him?

One by one, I thought back to what had happened that night. I thought that woman was also a vampire, but it wasn't because her fangs were fake. That's what used to be sold every Halloween: fake fangs.

"Crime is rampant here in our town as if a body was found just a while ago. It is said that there may be a serial killer here in our town, and our peers are being victimized. It may be a serial killer here in our town, and our peers are being victimized... The case is uncertain because the police are still quiet about it.The autopsy is not over yet."

Fucky! If my suspicions were correct, it was probably the woman I saw last night in the woods. If what that man said is accurate or right, it was perhaps the woman I saw last night in the woods. If what that man said is true... The woman is already dead.

I remember getting the vampire's attention. If that man hadn't stopped me, I would probably have been the corpse in question now. That's what I wanted last night... but even if I sacrifice my life, it will not serve as evidence or proof that vampires exist because the police will not investigate the possibility that the vampire did it.

"Oh, that's amazing there, Adra."

"Don't worry. The vampires won't victimize you because they'll be scared of you immediately!" She teased me.

I stared at him. "It'll scare you more; it'll make your crooked teeth tremble!"

"It is beautiful! "It looks like my crooked teeth are useful somehow!" She laughs at what she said.

"Let's go." I'm with her.

I looked around. My eyes seem to be looking for something.

I sighed heavily, disappointed that I didn't find what my eyes were looking for. Even though I can remember some parts of what happened last night, I feel like there is still something missing that I need to remember.

"Aw!"

"What happened?" She did not answer immediately because she was busy rubbing her eyes. What happened to Alta?

"Oh my! Something went in my eye! It's painful!" She complained while still rubbing her eyes.

"What just happened?"

"Something came into my eyes; it just went somewhere!" Two more eyes! The pain!" She was so close to my shoulder; her eyes were closed, and she rubbed them slowly.

She blinked many times before looking at me. My eyes widened when I saw her eyes. The missing memory strikes my mind like thunder.

I fell into the abyss. I did not drown because someone rescued me.

That man!

The image of his strong arms holding me flashed through my mind. The moonlight shines on his body, making him glow that night. The sound of the waves and his cold body.

My body stiffened when I realized what was missing from my memory last night. I shivered as I stared at Alta's eyes, looking at mine.

Alta's eyes are red, probably because of the ring that came into her eyes. It was as if I were staring into that man's eyes as I stared at Alta.

Fucky no!

That was the last thing I saw last night before I lost my sight. That’s what I forgot to remember! Why did I forget?

Her brows furrowed, and I'm sure she was perplexed by my sudden action.

"Hey! What happened to my eyes, why do you look so shocked? Is it reddish now?" He remembers his promise.

"Hey! "Come with me first; it's too early."

I still couldn't speak; I just let her pull me somewhere.

She washed her face in the bathroom near the park.

"Is it still red?"

Her eyes are not that red anymore, unlike a while ago.

"Not that much."

"Thank God! My eyes are still sore though." "What's the matter with me?" She looked in the mirror and then examined her eyes.

I remembered that it couldn't be erased from my mind until now.

I can't believe it. Now I remember everything that happened last night.

Asmodeus eyes were red. I don’t know his name, but I let him come to the forest.

What a fucky decision, right?

In my desire to prove myself, I let that man go!

"What happened to you?" "I just kept quiet about that."

"H-ha?" What did Alta say? I never heard because I was busy thinking.

"I don't know about you, Adra! Your mind is going somewhere. I'll be the first; thanks for coming. Only later!" Before marching out of the bathroom, he said this while smiling.

I also went out, and while walking, I still couldn't get my mind off what had happened. There is also a question that bothers me. "Why is his eye red?"

When I entered the class without that man, I would have planned to talk to him in case he was not there. Where did that go? The class ended with me learning nothing because I couldn’t focus.

"Aw!" I shouted. What the heck! Not even being careful. I turned to the one who was staring at me.

"I'm sorry. I'm not staring at my path. I'm sorry."

My forehead furrowed when I heard the voice of the woman bending over.

Don't tell him it's bothering me again today.

"Layla?" She raised her head, and her eyes widened when she saw me.

"A-adra! I'm sorry; we're confused again. "I'm sorry," she stuttered.

"No, it's fine." It's not okay. This is the second time she bumped into me.

The corridor is wide enough for people to walk through it,  there were almost no other students walking.

So how did she bumped into me again? Unless she's doing it on purpose.

, so that he couldn't hit me again. I couldn't help but wonder if he meant the jar for me.

"Sorry Adra!"

I didn't hear what he said because I suddenly felt devastated as if I were getting cold.

My forehead wrinkled.

"Did you feel that?" I asked her.

His two eyebrows will meet. "W-what?"

"Suddenly cool." I then promised to look around. My eye caught the man walking not far from us.

Fucky! That's him!

I walked quickly in the direction of Asmo. I couldn't say goodbye to Layla, and he couldn't understand me either.

I got to the hallway, where he turned, but he wasn’t there.

Fucky! Where is he?

I sighed and rolled my eyes around—where could he have slipped? His speed was beyond my sight. I didn't run slow; he was just really fast.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I shuddered to see him appear in front of me.

Fucky!

My gaze remained on his eyes. It wasn’t red like I saw last night. His eyes weren't red before either, like I saw last night. His eyes weren't red before, either. So why do I expect her eyes to be red now?

But why did his eyes turn red last night? It's impossible that his eyes turn red because of the light or something.

"Why are you following me, Miss?" He asked.

"I just want to ask something..." I stammered.

He did not speak; he remained to stare at me. "How did I get home last night?"

His eyes narrowed, and his eyebrows furrowed.

"What?"

"How did I get home last night?" The last thing I remember is that I fell into the sea, and when I woke up, I was already at home."

His brows furrowed even more at what I said.

Like I said something wrong.

He leaned forward, staring at my face. I stepped back because of what he did. But my face is very much close to his.

His face is serious. "You can still remember?"

Yes! Duh? What made him think I would forget that? I almost died, so I will never forget that!

"Yes, why will I forget about it?" Instead of answering me, he pulled my wrist into the classroom without a students. I stood near the door.

I leaned back against the door and then turned to him. "I have another question,"

"Why are your eyes red?" His eyes widened slightly, and his mouth opened.

"That was the last thing I saw before I fainted."

He came closer to me. He stared into my eyes intently. It was as if he was talking to me while staring at a language I didn't understand. It took a minute, then he moved away a little and took his eyes off me. I blinked a few times.

"What happened?" Why is he staring at me for so long? What is he going to do?

"Finally," he said in relief.

"What do you mean, finally? Why are you saying that?" His eyes widened again.

"Why are you staring at me for so long?" You didn't save me last night; you can stare at me for a long time. "I don't even know you; I don't even know your name."

"What the hell?" His voice was already tinged with irritation.

He approached me again, staring at me as I averted my eyes. He grabbed my chin and gestured forward so our eyes would meet. I didn't let that happen because I closed my eyes.

I heard him groan in frustration.

What is this man's problem? Suddenly, he stared. "Why don't you answer me?" He did not speak.

"I won't open my eyes if you don't answer me." I strongly promise

I need answers, not his fucking long stare. I can't hear anything from him. It feels like he's not in this room anymore.

I slowly opened my eyes and rolled them around.

Fucky! He is no longer here! How did that happen? I blocked the door! I also haven’t heard that noise, so how did he get out of this place?

My attention was caught by the open window swinging and the curtains dancing in the air coming from outside.

He can’t go out the window because the window is too small for him!

How did that go away?

Fucky! What is going on around me right now? I'm confused.

Fucky! My eyes widened when I realized something.

Fucky! Why I didn't think of that?
