Rhea's POV

I forced myself to look away curling back into my shell. The look on his face broke my heart. The way his eyes widened like he had seen a ghost.

My heart ached as I pulled away, turning my back to him.

Kael sighed and walked closer, his frame shielding me from Kieran.

"What happened to her?" He whispered, his voice hoarse.

"She's shifting!" Kael snapped, his hands clenching.

Kieran shook his head, disapprovingly. "This isn't just a shift! Was it induced?"
