Chapter 2 He’s Getting Engaged

Elin’s POV

“Right away, Mom,” I said, wiping the cold sweat from my face and instinctively touching my belly. It was just a nightmare. I was fine, not pregnant.

But waking from the nightmare, I had to face a cruel reality—the man I loved, Alpha Aaron, was getting engaged.

A tearing pain ripped through my heart. I clutched my chest, asking myself: If I really were pregnant with Aaron’s pup, would he be as cold and ruthless as in my dream, forcing me to abort it?

“Elin, the guests are already here. Lucas will be furious if we’re late,” Fiona said, hurrying off. I slipped into a dress and headed to the banquet hall.

Suddenly, a large hand grabbed me from behind, pulling me into a fitting room before I could react. I was about to scream when Aaron’s low, magnetic voice sounded above me. “It’s me, little Kitten.”

“No, Uncle,” I said, knowing what he wanted. My body tensed, shrinking back.

But he spun me around, pressing me against the massive dressing mirror. When his soft lips brushed my neck, a tingling sensation surged through me like electricity, my clit tightening with pleasure.

His hard cock rubbed against my backside, his husky voice murmuring, “I know you want me. Come on, little Kitten.”

With that, he lifted my skirt, his scorching, rigid cock sliding into me, shallow at first, then deeper. I was filled, my core swelling as slickness dripped down my thighs. Shame overwhelmed me, and a hoarse cry escaped my throat. “No!”

“Elin, two years ago, you said you liked it from behind. Don’t you anymore?”

“You’re about to get engaged. What am I to you?” I cried out in pain.

I didn’t want to be his shameful, hidden mistress anymore, nor did I want to carry his child only to have him kill it.

“Aaron, please, stop…”

Aaron didn’t stop. Instead, he thrust harder, as if venting his anger. I knew my refusal had provoked him, but at the same time, he sent me soaring to climax.

He fucked me fiercely, growling low in his throat. “Regretting it now? Forgot how you seduced me two years ago?”

Damn it, it was all my fault…

His anger seemed to intensify. The mirror reflected his cold, handsome face and powerful, muscular body, his deep blue eyes burning with lust and fury.

“Answer me. What did I say the day you seduced me?”

“You said… the game’s started…” My clit trembled, my legs so weak I could barely stand, my sweat-soaked hands leaving streaks on the mirror.

He showed no mercy, pounding deeper and harder. “And then?”

“That it’s not up to me… to stop… ah…” His forceful thrusts sent me to another climax, and he came deep inside me at the same moment.

“Your body’s always more honest than your mouth,” he said, a rare smile crossing his face.

I was so ashamed I wanted to die, my uncontrollable desire leaving me flushed with embarrassment.

He bit my earlobe, whispering huskily, “Good, my little Kitten. Remember what you said—you’re mine.”

He stood up slowly, adjusted his clothes with elegance, and left, leaving me disheveled in a mess. By the time I cleaned up and stepped out of the fitting room, the banquet hall was already packed with people.

“Elin?” Fiona grabbed my wrist, scolding in a low voice, “Why did it take you so long? Lucas will blame us!”

“Sorry, Mom, I wasn’t feeling well and slept in a bit,” I said, pulling her hand away, avoiding her eyes, afraid she’d see through my lie.

Just then, I heard a woman’s sweet voice nearby. “Darling Aaron, I’ve been waiting for you.”

“Oh, sorry, I was disciplining a naughty little Kitten, so I’m late,” Aaron replied.

That was about me, wasn’t it? I looked up, annoyed, and saw Aaron leaning down to kiss today’s leading lady—Saira, the daughter of the Fire Moon Pack’s Alpha. But his deep blue eyes flicked past Saira, glancing at me, intentionally or not.

I bit my lip and turned away, ignoring his gaze, only to catch the mocking smirk on his lips. I walked off, pretending to casually grab a dessert and nibble on it. But the sickly sweet taste suddenly made me gag. “Ugh…”

The Scott family castle had strict etiquette, especially at such a grand banquet, where everyone was poised and refined.

My sudden retching drew attention. I even saw Lucas, seated in his wheelchair, casting a stern warning glance my way. He was Aaron’s father, once a formidable Alpha until a battle left him disabled.

My stepfather, Raynor, was his cousin’s son. If Raynor hadn’t asked Lucas to look after us before he died, Lucas probably would’ve kicked me and my mother out long ago.

Nausea hit again, and I covered my mouth, rushing to the bathroom. After emptying my stomach, I felt much better.

“Elin, what’s wrong with you?” Fiona’s anxious voice came from behind. “You’re not secretly dating someone, are you?”

“What are you trying to say?” I looked up at her. The mirror reflected my pretty but pale face, my blue eyes glinting with a cold light.

“I mean…” Fiona lowered her voice. “Are you pregnant?”

My mind buzzed, and I suddenly remembered my period was three days late. Could it really be…

The nightmare flooded back, the thought of my fetus being killed by its own father making my hand dig into my palm. God, fate wouldn’t toy with me like this, would it?

But I forced a calm smile. “How could I be? I don’t even have a boyfriend. It’s just an upset stomach…”

“Good, then. I was thinking of introducing you to a boyfriend. Mrs. Sinclair saw you earlier and thinks you’d be a great match for her son…”

“No, Mom, I don’t want to get married right now,” I said, shaking my head at Fiona. “My life is my own to handle.”

“Elin, you don’t have a wolf. Stop dreaming and find a suitable man to marry. That’s the best path for you,” Fiona said irritably.

“Will marrying make things better?” I looked at my mother defiantly. Deep down, I was terrified—if I really was pregnant, what would I do?
