Selene POV

My chest wouldn't stop hurting—the bond was snapping. I could feel it.

"Selene," Riven called, and I turned to him. I sat outside my tent with Riven while the others slept. It was my turn to do watch, and Riven insisted on staying with me.

"Are you okay? You look lost," he asked, and I nodded.

"Perhaps I'm just tired," I smiled faintly.

"You should rest. I'll—"

"No, there's no need. Thank you. I'm fine."
