Selene’s POV

The old man with a long beard looked almost like a half-completed wolf. He had a hunch back and hairs on his face. He didn't look human in some ways.

The old man dipped the knife into the bowl and brought it out stained with something blue and slimy.

I stared at him, confused, wondering what he was up to.

He held the knife upwards, muttered something I couldn’t understand, and rubbed it on each side of my arms and then my forehead.
