The door slammed shut behind them.

I slumped to the floor, my back throbbing.

Lady Havana crouched in front of me, her face filled with worry.

“I’m sorry you have to go through all this,” she whispered. “If only Dark was here.”

Lady Havana sniffed, I stared at her for a while. I know just how much she's been hiding it and holding it in. Dark absence hurts her the most.

She tore a strip from the hem of her dress. “Let me stop the bleeding.”
