I stirred in my sleep, trying to rise, but something heavy pressed against my legs.

I shifted again, but the weight wouldn’t budge. Looking down, I froze.

Selene. Her head rested on my lap.

Had she slept here all night?

I muttered to myself and carefully lifted her head, sliding my legs free without waking her. Gently, I carried her in my arms and laid her down in my bedroom.
