“She was curious,” I muttered. “And her wolf was louder than usual.”

She remembers something.

“No,” I whispered firmly. “Not memory. Instinct.”

Silence stretched between us before my wolf spoke again.

“Instinct is worse.”

I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling.

She was right.
