I left the common wing just before dusk.

I didn’t announce it. I didn’t ask for company. I wrapped myself in a simple coat and walked like I belonged nowhere in particular, which was the safest way to move inside Bloodfang. When wolves noticed me, I kept my eyes lowered. When they didn’t, I memorized their steps anyway. Avoiding attention was a skill I had learned long before Bloodfang, and it came back easily.
