The Bloodfang pack wasn’t what I expected, it was just quiet, heavy and very unsettling, maybe even intentional. The kind that makes a wolf feel like prey or like dinner’s already been chosen.

Elrich walked beside me, not saying much, but I could feel his wolf pushing at the edges of his skin. It didn’t sit well with him either. "Something’s off," he murmured under his breath so only I could hear.
