A heavily encrypted message arrived a few minutes after 4am. I squinted into the darkness at the sole blue light blinking on my wrist. Eira stirred beside me. I pushed myself out of the bed and sat on the edge. I felt a bit woozy from the stress of the last few days.

I tapped on the screen and the message loaded after I typed in my pin. It was from Lucan. I wondered if it was in response to the message I had sent to him earlier.
