I stared at the black cloth in Elrich’s hand, unable to ignore the familiar scent clinging to it. My wolf had already recognized it, and that made me more uneasy than the cloth itself.

“Where exactly did you find this?” I asked the warrior.

“Near the northern wall, Luna,” he replied, pointing toward the trees. “It was caught beneath a broken branch.”
