With Eira back, the day passed easily. I spent most of the day in the nursery where we cared for the pups and I also carried out my official duties. Sunlight creeped through the open blinds, falling on her hair and on Lyra’s grey eyes.

She stretched Lyra to me, who was slightly drunk- asleep from feeding. Aiden rested on her laps while Lyra slept on mine.
