The cab dropped me off in front of a building that looked like it had given up on life decades ago chipped walls, cracked windows, and a flickering light above the doorway that buzzed like a dying insect. Paul’s place hadn’t changed a bit. He always said the filthier a place looked, the less likely anyone would look for you there. I never argued.
