The next phase of our operation involved the orphanage, St. Jude’s. I’d chosen it deliberately. It was a respected institution, run with a quiet dignity that commanded respect. The orphanage offered a sanctuary for children, but also acted as a financial foundation for the church. The presence of the church alone made our campaign much more credible.
