Alora’s POV

I was lying in a clearing that looked familiar. Chloe was beside me painting my nails while Selene played with Leo down by the riverbank, laughing at his jokes. I had never seen her laugh that way before. 

I smiled at them. The best things that have ever happened to me.

Then all of a sudden, Leo’s giggling voice changed to a deep growl. He was no longer laughing. I looked down and saw him with a gun pointed at Selene.

The laughter caught in her throat.
