The beeping flattened.

One long, terrible note.

“No…” My voice cracked as I lurched forward, shoving past the doctors, past the nurses, and anybody else in my path.

Nyx knocked on my mind, clawing, howling, demanding. I let her take over for the first time since I realized I was a wolf.
