We lay on the bed, skin on skin, our breathing in sync as we stayed there for a while. 

The sheets were barely covering us as Adrian’s arms were draped around me, his fingertips tracing idle circles on my hip like he wasn’t ready to let go. 

I stared at the ceiling, trying to pretend my heart wasn’t still racing for all the wrong reasons. 

“I don’t like when you're quiet,” Adrian murmured, his voice low and warm against my temple. 

“I’m thinking.”
