Chapter 6

“You broke, not we broke up, Olivia, remember?” he said with a chuckle.

“You…,!”

“I'm downstairs.” He interrupted instantly and before she could give a response the call went off from the other end.

“Oh shit! How does he know my address? No one knows my address except Annie, could she be the one that told him?”

Thinking about the man's actions earlier, she didn't want to go down to meet the man but at that moment she realized she didn't have a choice than to go meet him. Afterall, her boyfriend Ethan would be home soon any moment from now.

Frustrated and confused, Olivia rushed to the window side and upon peeking she saw the man resting against Rolls-Royce boat tail, the world's most cosiest car. Olivia wasn't surprised at all.

She has always known the man's background but who would have thought he would casually drive something as flashy as that to this kind neighborhood.

Olivia didn't want to keep the man waiting with the thought that he might leave if she didn't go down to him. But just as she was peeking, her phone rang loudly, putting a big fear in her.

“What is it, Ezekiel?” She stuttered trying so hard not to let her voice break while she spoke but the man on the other end could only grin as he found her amusing.

“Where do you learn your peeking skills, Olivia? You have just five minutes to get down here or else, who knows I might consider making my way in there.” he said and hung up instantly without giving her a chance to say a single word.

“ The audacity of this man, huh! How dare he order me around in my own house?!” Olivia cursed as she quickly made her way downstairs in a hurry.

She knows he has always meant every single word he said during their dating era. Who knows if he meant what he said by coming inside her room, huh?

She ran so fast like her life depended on it totally forgotten she had a transparent nightgown on her body. And luckily for her, she got downstairs in just five minutes on the dot.

“You're punctual, Olivia.” He coldly said while checking his wristwatch while his other hand was holding onto the lit cigarette in his mouth.

“What do you want, Ezekiel?” Olivia asked, walking towards the man while glaring at him. Of course, she was angry, frustrated by the man.

Ezekiel intensely gazed at Olivia, his eyes roaming in-between every inch of her body, even Olivia could feel her legs slightly shaking due to the man's intense stare.

“Hmmm, so pointed.” Ezekiel said with a smirk playing at the corner side of his mouth as his gaze were thoroughly focused on her transparent pointed breast.

“Damn!” Olivia almost choked on her breath upon realizing she had come outside in that transparent nightgown. Like a five year old kid, she immediately wrapped her hand around her breast looking like a big fool.

“Is that why you are here? Please leave, my boyfriend will soon be back, Ezekiel.” Olivia questioned feeling more embarrassed by the whole scenario.

“Olivia, You're still the same as eight years ago. You haven't changed a bit.” Ezekiel grazed at Olivia without blinking, his eyes were thoroughly focused on her.

With a faint smile, “You're wrong, Ezekiel. Am different from eight years ago, time has changed me. Regardless of whether I have changed or not. I hope you can let me be. As you can see, I have moved on so you should do that. Plus, could you stop acting as if you own me, okay? You act more crazy than you look!”

“I'm not crazy, Olivia. I just want you by my side,” he said, taking some steps towards me.

“Why are you suddenly back? You disappeared right years ago so why do you return?” Olivia lamented brushing her hair behind her ear.

Ezekiel's eyes sparkled as he stared at the woman in front of him and the next thing, “Marry me, Olivia.” he uttered calmly as if he had done no wrong.

Olivia was speechless as he couldn't believe her ear neither believe the man would be that shameless. Even though she was the one that cut things off with the man, how does she expect her to be with him with just a few words after disappearing for a whole eight years.

Who does that? Besides, did he forget about me telling him I'll be getting marrying in twelve days? What audacity?!

Back in highschool, Ezekiel was the most important one in Olivia's life and they've been through thick and thin. She could say, the man is the only person who knows the real her and knows what she has always hidden in her heart. But that was then, that was all the things in the past. Besides, he's here proposing at the wrong time and pace. This was the most preposterous thing Annie has ever experienced in her life.

A proposal after a whole eight years of not seeing each other. Could he still be as childish as he was during their highschool days?

“Ezekiel, stop. We're not children anymore, you can't compare our highschool days to now, okay. We're adults now and we should know the difference between left and right.” Olivia said calmly even though her emotions weren't stable at all.

“I want to marry you. And I am not joking around. I want to make you my wife.” Ezekiel said confidently.

“Ezekiel, stop messing with my emotions. You and I know it's already impossible between us or do you enjoy messing with my emotions?” Olivia asked, laughing dryly.

The pain In her voice was so vivid. She could notice the pain and fear in her own voice as she rejected the man's offer. The previous her would have gladly accepted to be his wife. But what about her boyfriend, Ethan? They've been together for three years, even though there wasn't love. She believed they had a mutual understanding.

“I'm not messing with you, Olivia, you know I want you always.”

“So you're telling me you're serious about marrying me, Ezekiel?” she asked again and the man's expression remained the same which means he meant everything he had said.

“I'm sorry, Mr Ezekiel. But that doesn't change a thing.” She said coldly and turned to leave when the man pulled her into his broad chest.
