Belle
There was silence as the only thing that replaced my thought now was this strange man.
His concerned eyes, he looked pale, breathing softly and the way he stared as though he had searched all his life for me.
He placed his palm on my cheek. His finger brushed my veil, but I pushed his hand away, startled.
Silence. I turned to walk away, feeling abashed, but he obstructed my path.
"It's you, the woman I've been searching for" he explains, and I couldn't recall where I knew him from.
My eyes lowered at his outfit, something must be wrong with him.
"I'm not her, and stop mocking me too!" I retort, pouring my frustration on him and breathing heavily.
I was going through depression and the least I expected is to be approached by a lunatic.
I turned to my heels to walk away when I suddenly felt his arms around my waist.
His warm breath poured on the back of my hair, the rain had subsided, giving room to the mild wind.
He was so close that I couldn't think straight. My soaked body felt every ounce of his warm skin, like he was shielding me.
"Don't ever leave me again, Belle or I'll die this time" he whispers, his voice deep and sober.
I shook in his hold, more nervous than ever.
He leaned his head on my back and a gripping sensation flushed inside me.
I quickly pulled out from his hug, tensed. There is a misunderstanding and I know no other mate except Daven.
"What? Who are you?" I managed to squeeze out of my mouth, confused even though my voice crashed with the wind.
How does he even know my name? I don't know this man. His eyes danced in his socket as they passionately peered into mine.
There was silence between us and I could tell he didn't like explanations.
He grabbed my hand, pulling me gently to his chest.
His heat, the muscles, they all wrapped around me, making it impossible to think.
"I'm not letting you go ever again!" he coldly asserts in a tone that sounded possessive and hauled me gently to his car.
"Stop, I don't know you, let me go" I protested, panicking while trying my best to hold my veil in place.
"Belle, I know you hate me because of what happened in the past...I'm willing to make that up, I'm taking you with me, we'd start over again", he furthered in a rush and my face grew ashen. I was so confused that I couldn't even refrain from his hold.
He looked at me with so much familiarity and longing, something I'd never witnessed before.
"I am belle, but not your belle" I tried to communicate, but then he was so serious that I got lost for a moment.
"I'm never letting you go again, Belle", he declares again. His voice deepened and he was dead serious.
I began to scream, as he opened the back wing of his car to place me inside.
What if I'm abducted? But who would abduct an ugly duckling like me?
While in my panic and protest, two BMW suddenly pulled over surrounding us, and he stopped, forcing me inside the car.
In no time, I saw six men in dark suits appearing outside the car. They looked intimidating, and I was perturbed, not even knowing who to run to.
For a moment, I thought another danger was lurking, but then they bow to him.
One of them wore a different outfit, blue blazers precisely and paced closer to him. I presumed he must be the secretary.
"Boss, we need to leave" he addressed, taking a peep at me, our eyes locked, and I swallowed hard, while my heart scampered.
"I'm not leaving without my belle!" the stranger yelled, and I shuddered where I stood.
He suddenly cuddled me with his men, and I was stucked between him and the car.
My heart rate increased as he was so close that I could feel his breath on my face.
His eyes glared at the secretary, who was trying his best to convince him that they needed to leave because he had just woken up from a coma.
I thought of what to say or do to break out of his hold.
"I'm married" I proclaimed beneath my voice just so he'd leave me alone.
He shifted his gaze to me, his expression neutral, but he wasn't letting go of my hand.
"Break up with him, let me love you the way you deserve," he whispered in a low tone as we stared at each other intensely.
If this veil comes off, he'd realize I'm not her, he'd look at me with a disgusting look and I'm not willing to accept that.
I could see one of the men stabbing him with an injection from behind. His face squeezed as he stuttered away from me, panting heavily.
The secretary took his hand from me while trying to assist him, but this stranger pushed him back as he tried to reach me again.
I grabbed the hem of my dress and moved away from him while the men struggled to tame him down.
I couldn't move yet and was just a distance from them.
The secretary suddenly took off his coat and wrapped me in it, his cold eyes scruntized me drawing my attention to him.
"I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, Ms" he apologized, politely.
The pain of my heartbreak still lingered, and this encounter felt like a cruel reminder that I wasn't seen or recognized.
I grew sober but got distracted again by the stranger's declaration.
"I'd find you belle...and make you mine" he yelled, which frightens me. It was replaced by his grunt as he was forced inside the car.
I said nothing and began to walk away while my eyes were lowered at the coat wrapped in me. Nothing made sense tonight. First it was the humiliation and now a lunatic.
I doubt we'll ever meet again.
My eyes welled up with tears, my heart heavy with pain. This encounter only added up to my emotional turmoil.
I took one last glimpse in the direction of the stranger, but it was only his secretary I could see, and he gave me one last bow and vanished.
