Kael's POV

I didn't know what reaction I was expecting from her—fear, anger, or rage. But I certainly wasn't expecting what she did next. It threw me off for a moment. I leaned back and away from the wall, just watching her, my stare blank, my mind empty, like a zombie.

I just followed her as she leaned away from the wall, pushing me back with her body and walking forward, her face impassive as if carved directly from stone, her violet orbs like duds in her head.
