She spied Alpha King Kael walking to us and she dropped back. Slowly, like a shifting camera, the crowds gazes panned straight to us, following Alpha King Kael to us.

“Anything the matter.” He asked, looking from me to her, searching our faces.

“Nothing, Alpha King” Nahlia murmured, her features stiffening for a tight smile.
