I caught him in my hands before he could drop, but his heavy weight eventually forced us to the ground.

“Kael!” I screamed. I cradled him to my chest, pulling him tighter to me. “Stay with me, Kael.” I said, tapping his cheeks so he stayed awake. “Stay with me, please, Kael. Please.” I begged, sobbing.
