Arabella’s POV
It had been three days since I broke up with Julian. He had been all over my place knocking and begging, but I was always too weak to open up the door. I was mostly always crying.
“That son of a bitch!” Skye was fuming all around the room. She didn't pick any of my calls the night of the incident, and since she was on her regular three day break with her boyfriend in whatever city they choose, I just let her be. I had avoided all her calls till she showed up at my doorstep.
I was still drowning in my sorrows. I was sober, but my head hurt a lot. I drank way too much than a lady should. I had exhausted all the energy I had left inside me because of a man that didn't care enough not to fuck around.
“I brought a bouquet of flowers for nothing!” Skye snapped. She was angrier than I was. “So, tell me you beat his ass up.”
“Beat?” I scoffed, holding the ice to my head although I wasn't sure that it'd work. “I was weak, and hurt, and I couldn't even let him touch me.”
“This bastard should really pray that I don't get to him.” Skye foamed angrily. “The efforts, the money wasted, every single fucking thing! Argh!”
“You know, in a way, I'm actually happy that I'm done with all of this nonsense.” I sighed, and Skye came to the bed, consoling me. “I'm done with all the cheating and arguments and nonsense!”
“And if you go back to him, I'll beat the hell out of you, and this is not even a joke.” Skye threatened me, and I nodded at her.
“I won't.” I said, breaking into tears again.
I had given my life and time to one man, and this is how he pays me back? I never thought I'd be this in pain again, but it is what it is.
“They've been fucking for two years, Skye, two years.” I cried, and Skye went silent.
“What?” Skye muttered, hugging me and patting my back.
Hours passed by, and Julian came over. He was knocking at the door when Skye almost tore him apart. It took me all the strength I could muster to hold her plump self from tearing Julian apart.
“Let me kill this bastard!” Skye yelled.
“Julian, leave! I don't want to see you!” I snapped at him, although I would definitely not have been able to do it if Skye wasn't around.
“Please, I'm sorry, Arabella. I'm nothing without you.” Julian begged.
“You didn't know all that bullshit before going to stick your dick in another woman?” Skye yelled, and I managed to push her inside.
“Julian, leave!” I growled, walking back inside. I slammed the door behind, and I fell to the ground, crying again.
***
By evening, Skye left to get groceries, and Julian's properties at my apartment. They were all in one box. I was shaking my legs while I considered several options, many of which would make anyone question my self respect.
“I can't go. I wouldn't be able to control myself around him.” I muttered, looking at the box, and only seeing an opportunity to make him beg me, and probably convince me to be his again.
I probably need to be beaten to get to my right senses because I might be tripping too much. I sighed again, trying to get my mind off Julian, but he was the only person I could think of.
“Fuck it!” I whispered, grabbing my keys and the box. It was a little heavy, but I made it to the car. I sat in the car for a while, hoping that Skye would show up, and beat this stupid idea out of me, but it was not happening. She wasn't showing up.
I turned the key, revved my engine with hopes that she was close by and would come to stop me, but immediately nothing happened, I drove off, straight to Julian's office.
At the company, one of the interns was kind enough to help me with the box.
“Julian's office, yeah?” He asked, and I answered with a forced smile and a nod.
“Yeah.” I said, and we left the garage.
The intern took long strides, so I was way behind him. The elevator dropped me at the top floor where Julian works, and I was walking towards his office when a gorgeous guy walked out from another. He was very tall, and he had icy blue eyes that I'd kill for. If only I didn't have eyes for just Julian only, maybe I'd have stopped to actually drool, but I just walked past him. He smelled really nice too. His cologne was really strong.
“Erm… wait? Please?” The hot guy called, and I turned back with surprise.
“Me?” I asked, and he nodded, walking back to me.
“Yes. You.” He said.
“What can I do for you?” I asked, folding my hands, as I tried not to look at his face too much.
“Remember me?” He asked with a tired smile.
“Uhm… no?” I shook my head, trying to jog my memory.
“The guy you gave a ring to?” He asked, and I suddenly remembered.
“Oh, damn.” I said, gasping with my right hand over my mouth. “I'm so sorry.”
We then laughed about it.
“It's so nice to finally meet my fiancée.” He said as a joke.
“Same here.” I laughed, responded nicely to him.
“So, what are you doing here?” He asked, and I was about to respond when Julian walked out of his office, and looked round. When he saw me, he hurriedly came over to me.
“Sorry boss, she's here to see me.” Julian said.
“Oh, she's your friend?” He asked.
“Uhm.. she's my…”
“Wait, boss?” I muttered, but I might have been too loud.
With Julian's position, the only person he should call boss is definitely the CEO.
“Erm… yeah.” He shrugged.
“Do you guys know each other?” Julian asked.
“Yes, she's my fiancée!”
