Alexander's POV
The ladies at the office had already started gathering in small groups to discuss what had just happened. I was watching all of it live from my office. One of the many benefits of owning a company.
I spent a lot of time at the office after that, since I had forgotten what I wanted to do before Arabella came in. She amuses me for reasons I couldn't explain. I enjoyed her company, and better still, she was funny.
Tobias knocked on my door, and waited outside till I allowed him in. My position as the Don commanded respect, regardless of the strong friendship that we had.
“How's it going?” I asked, as he walked in to sit.
“Well, from the product I've been able to sell, I've gathered about 3 million dollars in profit.” He said, and I hissed.
“That's small compared to what we actually need!” I growled. “Scarcity creates demand, but all this is doing is just killing my business.”
“Damn. What do we do now?” Tobias asked, leaving the thinking to me again.
I sighed, rubbing my hand on my face, trying to stay awake.
“Man, I need to get some fucking sleep.” I muttered, cracking my knuckles as I shook my head, trying to stay awake.
“You should. You never get dark circles, but you're already getting thin.” Tobias said, hauling out a bag of chips from God knows where.
“We still have weapons, right?” I asked, and he glanced at me with shock.
“Yeah, but I thought that was dangerous territory for now?” Tobias asked, slowly crunching the chip in his mouth.
“Well, unless you have another way to make me twenty seven million dollars, I need to do what I have to do.” I growled, and he only nodded, resting back into that chair. “I'll meet with a few people, and I'll make a sale, you'll deliver it.”
“All by myself?” Tobias asked, leaving a chip in his hand.
“Of course not. I can't leave anything to your dumb ass!”
Tobias was my way of staying anonymous. He was my way of staying unknown, to avoid any form of snitching leading back to me. It was the only reasonable way to prevent what almost happened to my father. It almost drowned the family's finances. I was able to resurrect us despite the lawsuits against us, but I made sure we won everything.
“And what about the stuff I told you about three days ago?” Tobias asked, while I was rubbing my eyes.
“In case you haven't noticed, I don't remember anything that happened three days ago, and I need you to remind me.” I hissed. “And stop eating like that!”
“Sorry.” He said, dropping the bag of chips on the table. “It's about the Eagle cartel.”
“Handle it, Tobias.” I begged. “I'll lose my mind if I have to do one more thing.”
“So, handle it the way you know I would.” I said. “Don't let this escalate.”
“Thank you for trusting me! I won't let you down!” He assured me, and I chuckled, taking deep breaths.
I took a walk round the room to clear my eyes and calm my mind, but nothing seemed to be working.
“Okay, I think I'll take a break tomorrow. I don't want any calls, or anything that has to do with the company or the Mafia.” I ordered Tobias, who was back to eating his chips.
“Well understood Don!” He said.
“Also, please, don't wake me up.” I begged, and he nodded.
I was about to take my seat to finish what I was doing when my landline rang. It was so loud that I couldn't ignore it.
“What the fuck do these ones want?” I snapped, picking up the phone? “What?”
“Sir, one Skye is calling, says she's from your fiancée.” My assistant said, and I took a pause, calming myself down. “Should I?”
“Yeah, I'll take the call.” I said, and I picked the call immediately.
“Hello, who's this?” I asked, and the person on the other end was crying.
“I'm sorry. I know you don't know me, but Arabella has been arrested for murder.” Skye said.
“Wait, what?!” I sat up, and the sleep that was terrorising me seemed to have become nonexistent.
“Yes.” She cried. “She was arrested for the murder of one Silas Sebastian, and I'm at the police department now.”
“Okay, hold up, I'll be there.” I said, standing up as I started dressing hurriedly.
“What's wrong?” Tobias asked. “And how did that person get your contact?”
“It's an office landline, and I can get the answers later.” I snapped at him.
“Why are you so bothered?” Tobias asked, looking concerned.
“Remember the problem you said needed to be taken care of three days ago?” I asked, and he nodded.
“Yeah.”
“Well, that was Silas Sebastian, and I shot him.” I said, wearing my suit. “And now, someone else is taking the fall for it.”
“Holy fuck!” Tobias said as I grabbed my keys.
“Yeah man, Holy fuck”
