Aurora

It was the break of dawn, the sun was already up. Its rays illuminated the path out of the cave. As soon as I stepped outside, I used the back of my palm to cover the bright light entering my eyes.

“Where’s Serena?” I thought to myself. I slowly transformed back to my normal state. The resolve to catch up with her and pay back all the pain she inflicted on me was stirring in my chest. I clenched my fists as I tried to follow her footprints in the soil outside the cave.
