Jeremy’s shout echoed through the game room as his character was shot down for the third time in a row. Liam chuckled, snatching victory with ease.

“Unbelievable. You’re cursed,” Liam teased.

Jeremy tossed the controller onto the couch, scowling. “No, I’m distracted. Too much crap going on lately.”
