"How?" I muttered. "Did he mention it to you or did you in any way give him a confirmation that I was behind it?"

"No," he replied simply.

Seeing how physically strained he was, I didn't want him to bother about bearing the weight. Besides, it was my idea and I honestly thought everything would go according to plan. Who knew this CEO would be sceptical instead of overexcited about the news?
