I didn't need any amplifier to make out the exhaustion and fear in her voice, and I couldn't care less how I looked now.

“What's wrong with her?”

“She's just having a bad time, son, but she'll be fine I promise,” she said slowly leading me down the stairs.

“Does she know that I'm here?”

“She doesn't and please I'd like it to stay that way until she gets better,” added, spiking my curiosity the more.
