In an hour, I was bathed, treated probably,I was exactly my brother’s look alike, only that I was feminine, and shorter, there was no where I was going to pass in like my brother.
And I was freaking out, there was nowhere they wouldn't notice, no where, I was panicking because I knew if I failed it was death, and my aunt .
The door opened as Beta George was in, I stood there, as I refused to meet his eyes, he had just ruined my life by this absurd idea.
“I know you hate me, for this, and I don't blame you, you deserve this, and make use of this opportunity, your a clever girl figure it out, dont come back from the same way you leave, your father is a prideful man, and if anything happens to our brother, you have the opportunity to lead, this is for your good, and the pack needs a strong and kind Alpha, and neither your father or brother are both, your not just doing this for your self but for your Pack too"he whispered as tears rolled down my eyes.
I finally understood, this was what he meant, this was his intention, to dethrone my father and my brother, it was no hidden thing that both were cruel, even to the pack members.
I turned to look at him, fear eating through me, as I stood there.
“I can't do this, I don't look like him, there is no way, i can pass on like him, i will be killed"i whisper yelled at him and he smirked.
“Your father had a crazier idea”he said as he opened up the door, and a woman stepped inside, she looked crazy, her hair was dreads and her skin was pale as snow. I looked at George in confusion.
“What Will she do?"I asked as she looked at me, then it clicked , she wasn't human, she was a witch, I thought they were extinct, werewolves and witches don't mix, and werewolves had hunted them down years ago, till they became legends.
She picked up my face and looked into my eyes, and she smirked.
“Oh she is more than enough”she whispered.
Then she went , holding my shoulders, and enchanting some words I didn't understand.
In a matter of minutes, she stood there as my eyes were glued, and I looked at George staring at me in shock.
"Listen to me, child, never take off this necklace. This illusion remains intact as long as you wear this neck piece. If you remove it, the illusion disappears, and you will look exactly like your brother," she instructed me, and my eyes widened in surprise.
Only then did I notice something unusual; I was taller. As I looked down at my body, the clothes that I had worn, which belonged to my brother, tightened around me. My breasts were gone, replaced by a flat chest.
"And one last thing," she said as she turned me around to face a mirror.
I looked to see that I was still myself, still with the same wide eyes, but with breasts hanging forward.
“Dont worry, in the eyes of everyone you are lucien , but in a mirror, you are yourself, and illusion cannot play a mirror as it reveals our true self , our true nature, so do not stand in front of a mirror or any clear substance or your cover will be blowed”she warned , and i held the necklace she had given to me.
“She’s ready”the witch whispered as she tried to walk away but George held her back.
“The fate of this pack depends on that illusion of yours, Alpha will like to know f we can trust you, because if this fails, Alpha Malrick, will no longer be able to provide you with the protection on his pack lands"George snapped at the witch who glared at him.
“The girl is ready, it wouldn't fail, unless…..”she trails off as she turns to look at me.
“Unless what…”george asked.
“She gets touched, kissed or marked by her mate , then the illusion can no longer protect her"she said , and my eyes widened, the idea of a mate brought me to my knees, I had just turned nineteen so it was quite possible I may meet my mate.
she pulled her arms from George and walked out the door
“Thats, it lad, your ready , lucien, now remember what i told you, this is your chance to take back everything that was yours, to make use of it,do your best, Alpha blood flow through your veins”he whispered to me, as he turned and walked out of the room, i was speechless, as i stood there.
Now instead of fear, my fears were replaced by hope.
An hour later, I stood in front of my father, who accessed me, he had been quite calm as he watched me not saying a word. I knew that my brother’s health weighed heavily on his mind.
The van that would take me to the academy was arriving any moment now, based on protocol, and my father, with his Beta, and a few warriors stood behind as we all waited for the van.
Soon I saw a black van approaching from a distance, one I knew would take me away from this place, either to my redemption or to my doom.
I heard footsteps behind me, as my father stood behind me.
“You better win this, or else, you know the consequences, and look forward for my orders, dont even think of double crossing me,or trying to run away, ill find you, you know I will”he snapped at me,as the van stopped in front of us.
If only he knew, i was about to pay him back for all the evil , he had done to me, sometimes i think i was adopted, but i knew i wasnt, there were so many evidences, i made a promise to my self , the next time i would be coming here, i would be coming to challenge him.
Boldly written there, the ‘Royal Academy’
The man packed the luggage into the back of the van, and without words i stepped into the van, i looked down on the necklace, on my neck, it looked pretty but when someone looked closer, one could see the blood inside,it knew it had to be my brother’s blood it had its scent.
The car drove away, and I looked back as the pack house faded from my view. I didn't even get an opportunity to say bye to my Aunt Vaela, my father wouldn't allow it , he had dragged me into the room, and kept on talking about the rules I must follow.
The journey was quite dull, and finally, I found myself with a chance to sleep through the entire experience. Suddenly, I was awakened by a voice coming from the driver.
"Lucien, we’ve arrived," he declared, and as my eyes opened, I hurriedly turned to the window, my eyes growing wide with surprise.
The structure was enormous, with towering buildings that reached high into the sky, encircled by a lush forest. I glanced back to notice that the van I was in was one of several vehicles, all making their way to the school.
We were all required to pass through security, and as we drove further into the school grounds, I noticed young men my age, dressed in what appeared to be a respectable uniform, while new students were checking in their names right in front of the school entrance.
The vehicle came to a stop, and as I collected my belongings, I stepped out of the car. A few glances were thrown my way as I made my way to the back of the vehicle, but the driver was already there waiting for me.
"Alpha Lucien, don’t worry, I’ll take care of checking your bags into the dorm, just check in right over there," he instructed, pointing to where there was a long line of young men waiting to be checked in.
"Thank you," I replied shyly, flinching as my voice came out, but it wasn’t my voice; it was my brother’s voice, which frightened me more than ever as I realized what I was doing.
Without uttering any more words, I walked towards the line, just then I got bumped unexpectedly, and I wasn’t prepared for it as I fell to the ground.
"I got you, man!" a voice boomed above me as I looked away from him, and I stood up to see Hunter. Of course, I recognized him; he was my brother's best friend and quite a jerk.
I stared at him in horror, and he ceased laughing as he looked at me.
"What's up, man? Aren't you pleased to see me? You look shocked," he responded, and I gathered myself together.
Just when I was about to open my mouth, a scent struck my nose, a powerful aroma that was more intoxicating than anything I had ever experienced. I scanned the area, searching for the source of the scent.
"Do you smell that?" I asked Hunter, who was looking at me while sniffing the air.
“Yea, a bunch of Alpha males, both eager and excited"he giggled and then I froze as a white van drove in, and stopped right a distance away.
Compared to the other vans, this particular Van was much more luxurious and truly stood out. As it drove in, I found myself standing there frozen, captivated by the sight. I watched intently as the door was being opened; first, I noticed a shiny silhouette, and then, it was him.
He stepped out, wearing a hoodie and joggers, with the hoodie pulled over his head. Just then, he froze as he turned, searching the crowd as if he were looking for something specific.
"Mate," Linda, my wolf, whispered, and I have never felt so terrified in my entire life.
