“Get lost” Logan barked out and her eyes filled with fear and hurt before she scrambled off down the hallway and out of sight soon.

“Thank you, Mr Logan. Mr Lucian” I appreciated with a small smile before I tried taking some steps away from their side but hands grabbed at my arms and held me to a place and in any situation, I would have reacted differently but…

“Did we dismiss you?” Lucian asked as he took some steps close to me and leaned in.

“N-no sirs” I stuttered, acutely aware of how close they both were to my body and how the amount of heat their bodies were emitting was messing up my thoughts and manner of speaking.

“Sir.. I quite like the sound of that” Logan leaned into my neck and sniffed and that was when Jennifer's voice filled our ears and we all scrambled away from each other.

“Miss, I'm hungry” she rushed at me, without talking to the duo and I smiled at her.

“Take me to your kitchen” I said and she smiled before taking my hands and leading me away but a voice stopped me in my tracks.

“Try calling us something along the lines of Ddy” That was Lucian’ voice and it had my heart racing faster than an adrenaline would.

“Come on” I rushed off but without hearing a small chuckle from them and for the whole day, I did not see them at all and it gave me time to think.

Jennifer clung to me as the horror movie played on the large TV but my mind was not there at all, I was more concerned with my mission and how to go about it.

With the brothers messing with my head, I could feel they were thoroughly guarded and if I made a mistake then I would be discovered and that couldn't happen, I was already this close and couldn't afford anything to go wrong.

I sighed as my eyes began to droop and I stood up immediately and picked up Jennifer before taking her to her room and tucking her in– and she made no sound all through this which I took as a good sign.

Then I creeped towards the other hallway and just stared at the three doors there, black oak wood that called at me but I knew this was not the time for it. It was still my first day here after all.

I smirked and retreated back to my room where I locked up the door and went to sleep.

I was woken up the next morning to a loud scream and I instantly left the bed with eyes glancing around at what had caused such a scream but when I saw what room I was in, I calmed down and fell back to the bed just in time for my door to burst open.

I locked that door!! I exclaimed in my mind as I sat up to find Jennifer smiling at me mischievously.

“What did you do?” I asked as I stood up and began for her only to hear another scream of pain and— I rushed out of the room and cautiously approached stairs to find Cleo from yesterday laid at an awkward angle at the bottom.

Fuck! Why had she gone this far? The brothers would punish her if they knew she was even behind this..

“What..?” Filled my ears and I pushed Jennifer backwards as Lucian and Logan stepped towards her and glanced up to see me.

“Call for an ambulance!” Logan ordered and I heard someone respond and soon, an ambulance came to the estate and took her away and they marched up to me with varying shades of anger on their facial expressions.

“It's not what it looks lik-”

“Really? What is wrong with you?” Logan barked out and I took some steps backwards with some amounts of fear seeping into me.

“If anything were to happen to her, I will deal with you. Your wages are halved. Get lost” they ordered and I turned around and sauntered back to my room where Jennifer sat waiting for me.

“Go to your room. And don't leave for an hour and until you know what you did was wrong” I ordered and she nodded, face sullen as she left and I went back to my bed to sit down.

My phone rang by my side and I ignored it, facepalming myself for a moment and it rang insistently before it stopped then started again and I sighed before taking it.

Only to discover that it was just Nyra, a computer guy at the organization. His voice was rushed on the phone.

“Why aren't you picking up? Miss H is going bonkers over here” he sounded amused.

“Trouble over here but I will solve it. I don't need her screeching in my ear” I replied and he snorted with withheld laughter.

“Be careful, I'll give you a call soon” he said and the call disconnected before it also deleted as always and I let out a sigh of tiredness.

It hasn't even been two days and I was this exhausted out of my wits but I had to swallow the exhaustion and go on.

I left the room and went in search of the men but was told by the maid that they had gone out but I wasn't convinced so I used a tracking device Nyra had given to me and found they really weren't around.

I went to the other hallway quickly and picked the locks of the doors before finding the study and entering. I was taking a gamble by doing all this because if they checked the camera then they would find out about it.

I reminded myself to text Nyra to get rid of it when I got back to the room before I began to search for anything important that I could use.

I came across some documents and snapped them quickly before deciding to return another day and check again then left the room.

I had just entered my hallway when I found the men standing at my door. They gave me a suspicious look but I kept my face neutral.

“Where were you?”
