I was thirsty but I didn't want to ask these armed men guarding me for a drink. After all, I didn't want to take the risk of accidentally consuming poison. So what I did was swallow my own saliva with my mouth still gagged.

I had actually tried to break free, but it turned out when they found out I was making suspicious movements, they had now replaced my handcuffs with chains. So now my chances of escape were thin.
