I nodded my head to Nikita while I picked up my phone scrolling through the internet.

Sometime later, I heard the sound of a vehicle. Nikita sat up and told me to wait.

Why does my heart feel like something is off in Nikita's behavior?

Seconds later, the door opened and Bernard walked in.

"Can I see him?" He asked, and I nodded, pointing up the stairs.
