Lucien pov

I felt it before I saw it. The bond between us twisted hard, sharp enough to drag the breath from my lungs. Ivy’s fear slammed into me without warning, followed by Rick’s panic. Then everything went still in a way that felt wrong.

“Ivy,” I said, my voice breaking through the space around me. “Rick.”

No answer came back.

The land around me locked into place. The ground would not move. The air would not shift. Whatever the Circle was doing, it had shut me out completely.
