Ivy’s pov.

We shifted back by a river after two hours of running. My legs were still trembling, my wolf’s strength burned out from pushing against wolfsbane for so long, but Ezra hadn’t faltered once.

By the time we stopped, night had already draped itself thick across the canopy. I stood barefoot in the damp earth, shivering as my skin prickled against the cold air. Ezra slipped behind a curtain of branches and returned moments later with clothes and food wrapped in oilskin.
