Ivy’s POV

Sweat beaded down my temple as a gasp tore through me.

“No!” I jolted upright, the night air slicing into my lungs like knives. My chest heaved, breath ragged, the scream still clawing at the back of my throat.

Across the clearing, Ezra shot up from where he’d been lying near the campfire. He was on his feet in seconds, crossing the distance before I could steady myself.
