Layla's POV

I woke up in a dark space. It took long for my eyes to adapt to the darkness as I remembered that I was thrown here together with Irene.

“Irene?” I called and somewhere in the dark, I heard the sound of chains and I wondered if she was restrained.

“Irene,” I called again as my eyes struggled to adjust and when it finally did, I saw Irene unconscious right beside me but then, where did the sound come from?

I stared deeply into the darkness on the side where the sound had come ...
