After Gaius's speech, everyone remained quiet.

Vale raised his hand to say something and Gaius gave him permission.

"When did all this change happen? If I can remember correctly, it's not supposed to be tonight, none of us are prepared."

Thank goodness, I wasn't the only one caught unawares by this whole thing.
