Her stare was so penetrating, I thought her eyes were about to drill holes through me.

I froze on the edge of the stairs, pushed back by the intensity of her stare. Her voice low, and tinged heavily with an emotion that screamed pain, she said. “So you and your gang killed my…” She shut her eyes and blinked hard. “...my colleague.”
