Chapter 7 (Grace's Crazy Decision)

Meanwhile, at her apartment, Jenny and Bryan-two people deeply intoxicated by love-were wrapped in a passionate embrace on the bed, their intimacy coloring the love story they shared in that modest apartment.

Ding dong...

The sound of the doorbell echoed. Bryan was slightly startled, knowing that no one besides Alicia and Albert should know this apartment's address.

So who would disturb them this late at night?

With calm steps, he got out of bed, kissed Jenny on the forehead, and said,

"Love, wait here for a moment. I'll get the door."

Bryan walked to the door and opened it-only to be surprised to see Albert and Grace standing there.

"What are you two doing here?"

The two remained silent for a moment.

"Did Dad and Mom send you here?"

Grace smiled sweetly and replied,

"Bryan, I came to pick up Jenny. It's a request from your parents."

Bryan's forehead furrowed, disbelief clear in his expression.

"You're joking, right?"

"I'm not. You know your father loves you dearly... and he's always quick to change his mind.

Especially now that it concerns the heir-he probably feels guilty for ignoring the child your mistress is carrying."

Bryan's expression softened slightly as he turned to glance back.

Grace steadied herself and took a deep breath, the weight in her chest growing heavier as she saw Jenny appear in revealing clothes.

Slowly, she stepped into the apartment. The messy bed made it obvious what had just happened.

She tried to compose herself. As a wife, she had every right to be jealous and scream in pain-but she chose to remain strong.

"We meet again, Jenny," she said with a faint smile.

Jenny looked at her calmly, expressionless.

"Today, I've come to tell you that my in-laws want you to come to the house."

Jenny frowned slightly, as if unable to believe such kindness.

"This is for everyone's good. Bryan's father understands his responsibilities. According to Bryan's statement, the child you carry is a Hilton. Of course, he won't abandon that baby."

Jenny said nothing, her head lowered.

Bryan, on the other hand, looked thrilled.

"Finally! Papa understands me. Love, get ready-we're going home. My family will welcome you."

"But Bryan... going to your house as your lover, without any official status, will only hurt me. I won't be comfortable there."

Bryan hesitated and looked over at Grace.

Grace gave Jenny a calm glance and a small smile.

"Don't worry. I won't make you uncomfortable.

You can ask Bryan-before we were husband and wife, we were childhood friends. You don't need to feel burdened."

Still, Jenny looked unsure and refused to come along.

"I'm not sure... I'm scared something might happen to me-or the baby."

"Love, trust me. Everything will be fine. I'll protect you. I'll be by your side 24/7."

Seeing the drama unfold, Grace finally grew tired of it all. She turned around, ready to leave.

Albert opened the door for her, but before she stepped out, Grace looked back at the lovestruck couple.

"Whatever the reason, this is a direct order from Papa Hilton.

You must return home today-and bring the woman with you.

If not, Papa will remove your name from the company group."

Bryan's eyes widened in shock. He grasped Jenny's hand tightly and said,

"Jenny, everything will be okay. Come with me. Grace isn't as bad as you think.

She's wise and kind-I've always seen her like a sister. You don't have to feel burdened by our status."

Grace no longer cared about the two of them and walked out of the apartment.

Once inside the car, all the pain that had built up in her heart burst out in the form of tears.

Albert-who was driving her that day-could only silently witness his mistress's sorrow.

"I'm in pain... I don't know who to confide in anymore," Grace whispered.

Hearing that heartbreaking cry, Albert finally spoke from the driver's seat.

He glanced back and reached for her hand gently.

"Ma'am... I hope you can stay strong.

I just don't understand why you're doing all of this-for the Hilton family's reputation."

Grace continued crying.

"You're clearly falling apart like this... I can't do anything to help, but maybe my words can offer you a bit of comfort."

She slowly lifted her head and looked at Albert's sincere face.

She smiled faintly and said,

"Thank you, Albert..."

Albert turned back to the front, started the engine, and occasionally checked on her through the rearview mirror.

Grace looked utterly broken, her tears falling without pause.

As a man who had witnessed all of her suffering, Albert silently wished he could erase her pain.

And somehow...

Albert began to feel something different toward his mistress.

But he knew his place-he wasn't worthy of wanting Grace to mean more in his life.

"I just hope someone comes along who can take away her pain... and bring happiness to Lady Grace," he whispered in his heart.

---

"Albert, take the right turn at the intersection later. I want to go see someone,"

Grace instructed.

Albert glanced slightly toward the back and asked,

"Ma'am, who are you going to see?"

"I just want to visit someone-you'll see soon enough who I'm meeting."

"Are you going to see your foster mother, Ma'am?"

Grace simply nodded slowly.

It had been a long time since she last visited her foster mother's house, but this time, she truly wanted to meet the woman.

In truth, she had no one else left in this world-only her foster mother.

Grace's biological parents had died in a tragic accident ten years ago, and she was raised by Mr. Hilton and Mrs. Rosalina-Bryan's parents.

For all this time, Grace had considered them her only family.

But now, with Bryan distancing himself and treating her as if she no longer mattered,

Grace felt as though she needed to find a new place-somewhere that could feel like home again.

An elderly woman who, ten years ago, saved her from a tragic accident-and ever since, had considered Grace her own daughter.

When they arrived, the frail old woman was sitting on the porch, seemingly waiting for someone.

Her eyes widened slightly as she saw a young woman step out of the car.

"Grace? My daughter?"

"Mama..."

With a choked voice, Grace rushed toward her, crying as she embraced her tightly.

"Oh, I've missed you so much, sweetheart..."
