For the past two days, I’d been haunted by dreams of being chased through that hospital by two headless babies. The source of the crying remained a mystery, but I was sure it wasn’t coming from them.

The hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, and my breath catches every time I remember that dream.

Dreaming of two headless babies chasing me while crawling fast was scarier than being pecked by vultures.
