Capt. Bolton walked in after George settled down and informed him of the Cadets.

“How many of them are we supposed to absorb?” He asked and pretended as if Bright had not informed him.

“We absorb one hundred of them every year.”

“That is good to hear. How much stipend do we pay them?”

“Nothing. The experience they gain from us is enough for them.”

“Don't you think that it is absurd? If we can't encourage them, who will?”
