Chapter 3: Michaels' Arrogance

I quickly savored his mint breath before pushing him away. “What the fuck do you think are you doing?” I asked while my eyes shot daggers at him. He smiled and pretended to be oblivious to my anger.

“There’s no need to get all worked up, Sandra.” He said in a flirty voice. “You definitely can’t deny the sexual tension between us. Look, I… I know how you women are, you play hard to get, while you string your prey along. But I’m a man of action! I don’t play games so let’s not deny what we feel for each other.”

I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him in disgust. While still smiling, he said, “I know you want me, every woman I ever met wants me, every single one of them on this planet. Firstly, you wore a sexy outfit, because you wanted my attention, isn’t it? Why else would you let your breast call out to me? Your…. Your body language shows that you are interested in me and I don’t blame you, I mean… take a good look at me.” He showed himself off.

He continued “I’m rich, handsome, sexy, smart, the list goes on …. And on… what else would a girl ask for?”

“Well… you forgot delusional, egotistical, conceited and the list goes on….. and on…,” I shot back.

“Watch your mouth!” He cut in.

“There’s a limit to playing hard to get. Women throw themselves at me, so you should count yourself lucky that I’m waiting for you make the first move,”

I stared at him in shock. This guy is mentally unstable. Why is he this arrogant? If no one had ever put him in his place before, definitely today was going to be the day.

The rumors only spoke of him as a player, a cheat, and a rude jerk. No one spoke about the fact that he was a self absorbed jerk. I wondered why a lady should throw herself at such a man.

I guess he mistook my reaction as consent, as he grabbed me and tried to let my blouse loose. With all my strength I could muster, I whacked his face so hard that he went stumbling backwards.

“What the hell is wrong with you?!” He screamed while holding his face.

“You have a death wish, don’t you? You slut! Do you realize what you have done? You have the privilege of sharing my bed with me! And you dare hit me?”

“Yes I hit you and I will do it again, if you try me. What exactly do you take me for? What gave you such a right? What made you think that I’m into you? Seriously I don’t know what girls see in you that makes them swoon all over you. But for me…. You are nothing but a disgusting man! And you called me a slut? Oh because I refused to fall at your feet? Get over yourself, I’ve met guys who are richer, handsomer than you but they are humble.”

“You may be my boss but that doesn’t give you the right to make sexual advances at me. If that’s how you treat your past secretaries, from today, learn that I’m different. In fact, let this be a wake up call for you. Mr. Michael, listen you’re nothing special. I have standards, principles, and I won’t break them for someone like you. Have a nice day!”

When I was done speaking my mind, as I turned to leave, he halted my steps, and said. “Hold on. I didn’t ask you to leave. Sandra, you have some nerves. A low life like you, a very cheap one at that, dare hit me, and talk back at me, in such an insulting tone? I can make your life miserable with one snap of the finger.”

“Your threat doesn’t bother me, Mr. Michael. I’m not afraid of your rage. Just get this one thing in your head. That I, Sandra Nathan, I’m not for sale or moved by proud rich men. I can provide whatever I need for myself. Thank you so much for your time and attention.” After speaking I turned and left.

As I walked away, I knew that I just said goodbye to my job. I was sad, remembering the promises I made to Lisa. I could remember her face when I told him about the job.

Well it wasn’t my fault though, my boss was an arrogant, disgusting man. I may have gone a little bit overboard but he deserved it. I thought of first going to the hospital to see Lisa but I kicked against it.

I needed to look for another job, as quickly as possible. I thought about the various companies that I submitted job applications to, I was going to call them, if they had had any vacancy left, I can’t be mourning over the lost of my job
