Chapter 2: Offered Willingly

Tabitha's POV

“Let me go! Let me go!” I shouted as I struggled to escape from the grasp of these two men.

“I'm innocent! I didn't do anything!” I muttered. “Father, please—” before I could speak again, they threw me like a sack.

My head hit the floor, feeling weak and exhausted from banging the railing in the dungeon to make my father listen to my case. But he's deaf as he wanted to, especially since he doesn't want to listen to me.

Later on, someone removed the blindfold, making me scratch my eyes before getting exposed to a pair of shoes. I lifted my head, meeting the coldest gaze of the man who became famous in every corner of Eastwood. Despite his face hidden behind a mask, I can feel his dark and daunting aura.

He's the king…

Why is the king here?

What does he need from my father?

“Welcome to our humble home, my king. My family and I are honored to have you in our home, hearing your arrival is like a fortune that we've been waiting for.” My father stepped a few inches closer and stopped, “I heard you were looking for someone in my pack.”

“I came here to take what belongs to me. The moon goddess had led me here, telling me that your daughter is the one I seek.”

Natasha? He was looking for Natasha?

That b*tch! She was still fortunate even though she stole everything from me!

“What exactly are you seeking for, your majesty?” My father questioned.

“I want your daughter—the beloved one.”

I knew it.

My father drew a wide smile on his lips and replied, “I have exactly what you need.” After that, his attention landed on me. I was confused at first, but later on I realized what those eyes meant.

No…

“Take my daughter Tabitha, your majesty. She's the one you've been looking for,” he murmured.

I shook my head, “Father. What do you mean? Why are you giving me to this man?”

“Watch your words, Tabitha. The man you were talking to with the king, and you should be honored that he was here for you! Aren't you grateful that the king wanted you instead of your slave sister?”

It can't be. She was using me to save the ass of her favorite daughter, and I'm not letting him.

“But father! I was—” a man covered my mouth and secretly pointed a knife in my side. I swallow deeply, meeting my father's eyes and telling me to cooperate.

“Listen to the Alpha or you will meet your mother in heaven,” the man murmured.

I blink my eyes in agreement, I couldn't hold my tears anymore.

“You can have her,” father stated.

“I want to meet your other daughter. Natasha, is it?” The king asked.

Even the king doesn't want me. Great.

My father forced a smile and replied, “Natasha is not available right now. She is in the dungeon for the mistake she had made, so she will be punished until tomorrow and I suggest you not interfere in family matters. Unless you don't want to accept my offer?”

Offer. That word stabs like a sharp knife in my heart.

“An offering?”

He nodded, “Yes, your majesty. You were seeking for my daughter, and I know that he will go to any land just to have her but don't you worry because I'm giving her to you willingly. She will serve as my offering to you, especially since you honor our home.” His fake smile was like poison, but the king seemed didn't care at all or he was just blind.

My heart wrenching into pieces, and it shattered even more when my eyes spotted the man I have loved for so many years yet he chose another woman over me because I'm not worthy.

He even got her pregnant.

My father snapped his fingers, making two of his men carry me forcefully. One of them yanked my hair so I could meet the king's eyes. Those eyes were terrifying, and whoever saw him on the road would run for their lives.

His name was known all over the place. And death was his last name.

I don't want to be a slave.

I kicked their balls and ran to my father, but two of his men blocked my path. I tried to get through them but they were strong, I failed. Later on, they made their way and I crawled to my father's feet.

“Please, father! I'll do anything you will say! I'll accept whatever punishment you have for me! Just don't offer me to that man!” I cried, hoping to see pity on his eyes but I also saw disgust.

He kicked me away before kneeling in my level and pulled my hair, feeling the pain in my scalp. “The king came here for your sister, so you are going with him on your sister's behalf. Do you have any idea what you've done to her? My grandchild is in danger, and I will kill you if something happens to him…”

“I'm also your daughter… Why are you treating me badly?” I questioned.

He sneered, “My daughter? What a joke, Tabitha. If you were my daughter, I wish not. I rather have you killed when you were born, but out of promise and pity. I let you live with us but I wasn't expecting you to cause so much trouble in my pack…”

“Alpha Jacob,” Andrew approached him, causing my father to glance at him. “The doctor has news for you and it couldn't wait.”

My father's sharp eyes returned at me, after that he let me go to speak with Andrew. Their conversation didn't take long, and I saw how my father's expression shifted immediately.

He returned his gaze to the king, “Are you going to take her, your majesty?”

I turned around and the king's eyes were already in me as if he was having second thoughts, but eventually he gestured to his men. They want to take me.

“Wait, let me go! Father! Please! I'm begging you!” I yelled.

But his fake smile turned cold and raged.

Like something happened.

“Father! Please! You can starve me to death just don't make me come to him! I don't want to be a slave! Please, father!” I cried, begging him as they took me away.

The king raised his hand to stop his men. His cold hand touched my chin, sending shivers to my spine as his sharp tone lingered in the room. “Locked her to the cage and made sure she wouldn't escape. I will have your head if she does.”

He nodded, “Yes, your majesty.”

Then his eyes diverted to me again. “Stop fighting them or it will be worse for you.” His voice was ferocious— a warning that sliced into my heart and made my throat dry.

And when I looked around, I saw two maids carrying a basket with bloody fabric, making me realize what happened.

Natasha's child didn't survive and this is my payment.

“You're mine now, Tabitha…” he whispered.
